Memorial weekend is what most consider the official start to summer and for many, it means the first cookouts, swimming, and camping of the season, but many people forget the real reason for Memorial Day and the weekend that precludes it. What was originally called Decoration Day, Memorial Day is a time for us to remember and honor the fallen soldiers who have fought and died for our country. Without their sacrifices, we would not be able to enjoy our family get-togethers and all of our other freedoms that we take for granted throughout the year. I wish all of our Macaroni families a safe and fun holiday weekend filled with family, friends and good food, but I also ask that you take a minute during this holiday weekend to remember those that have fought for our wonderful country and have given their lives for us to remain living in the land of the free.
Our 2017 Vacation Bible School Guide is done! You can check it out HERE and see what our local churches have to offer this summer for VBS. I am sure there are more that I couldn’t find, so if you know of any that are not in the guide, please email me so I can get them added.
I am still working on a Local Farmer’s Market Guide. We have lots of great farmer’s markets in our area. If you know of one, shoot me an email so I can make sure it gets added to the guide. I want to put together the most comprehensive guide possible for our Macaroni families to utilize.
