The school year is almost over…my kiddos have five more days…and I am a lot excited and a little anxious. I’m excited because I love not having to keep to a strict schedule every day and getting to enjoy all kinds of fun activities throughout the summer. I’m always a little anxious though because my kids are home…all day every day…for two and a half months and I feel like I have to keep them entertained, while still maintaining the house, working full-time overnights and keeping up with our awesome Macaroni Kid Winchester newsletter. Finding that balance is just a little harder when the kiddos are home, as we all know, but we will not only survive summer, we will conquer it! I know that all of you Macaroni Mamas are as busy and harried as I am, so I hope that MacKid can help you this summer to entertain, stimulate and exhaust your little ones. Remember to check our calendar regularly, as I am always adding events as I come across them. Remember…Macaroni Kid does the searching so you don’t have to!

This weekend is Free Fishing Weekend in Virginia. This is a prime time to take your kiddos fishing without needing to purchase a fishing license. Everybody that lives in Virginia can fish in fresh water or salt water on June 2nd, 3rd and 4th without obtaining a fishing license. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and have some fishing fun!
The following week starts a lot of our local Vacation Bible Schools. Macaroni Kid has compiled a VBS Guide in order to help you locate these with dates, times, addresses and themes. If you are looking for a VBS for your kiddos, then check out our guide to see where the excitement is happening!
It’s not too late to sign your kiddos up for summer camp! There are lots of exciting day, week and overnight camps happening around our area.
