Making Our Community Better One Foster Family at a Time

Here's How You Can Help This Holiday Season

By Katharine McLeod, Foster Parent Recruitment Coordinator, Embrace Treatment Foster Care December 7, 2017
The holiday season is a wonderful time for families to gather and spend quality time together. However, for foster families, creating the same special holiday moments can be challenging.

At Embrace Treatment Foster Care, our parents do their best  to provide for the children in their care the same way that they would for their own children, including a Christmas morning filled with gifts under the tree . But when a family has budgeted for presents for three children, and their family suddenly grows to four, or even seven children, Santa may struggle to put presents under the tree for all . Your generosity can ensure that all of our children are filled with the excitement and anticipation over what presents are waiting under the tree for them this year.

Our Winchester Treatment Foster Care office serves Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, and Frederick counties. We are encouraging our families this year to put down their screens and bond over a family game night. With your help, we will be able to provide new board games for all the children and youth we serve. Whether your family favorite is CandyLand or Scrabble, your generous donation will find a happy home with a child or teen in our program.

If you would like to participate, you can drop off a board game at the following locations:

Top Virginia Chamber of Commerce, 407 S Loudoun St, Winchester, VA 22601
Shenandoah County Chamber of Commerce, 103 S Main St, Woodstock, VA 22664
Warren County Community Center, 538 Villa Ave, Front Royal, VA 22630
